•Is made up of 2 sacs.–Parietal pericardium (outer sac)–Visceral pericardium (inner sac) @ EPICARDIUM•The serous membrane secretes fluid into the space between the inner & outer sac à to allow smooth movement when the heart beats!!!
•Is composed of the specialized cardiac muscle (found only in cardiac).•Each fiber (cell) has a nucleus & each cell is very close contact by intercalated; this arrangement gives cardiac cells as a sheet of muscle & also to spreads the impulse from cell to cell via the branches (& intercalated disc).
•This forms the inner lining of the myocardium & the heart valves.•It is a thin, smooth membrane à permits the smooth flow of blood inside the heart.
