MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
My educational philosophy is that all students are unique and have a stimulating educational environment in which they can develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially. It is my desire to create this type of atmosphere where students can fulfil their full potential in learning. I will provide a conducive environment where students are invited to share their ideas in the learning process. I always ensure that my lessons involve multiple learning modalities so that students learn through their preferred learning style.
LEARNING THEORY: CONNECTIVISM
- Learning and knowledge rests in diversity of opinions.
- Learning is a process of connecting specialized nodes or information sources.
- Learning may reside in non-human appliances.
- Learning is more critical than knowing.
- Maintaining and nurturing connections is needed to facilitate continuous learning. When the interaction time between the actors of a learning environment is not enough, the learning networks cannot be consolidated.
- Perceiving connections between fields, ideas and concepts is a core skill.
