MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
In the teaching and learning processes, I truly believe in educating students to proactively THINK rather than passively RECEIVING routine lessons. As an academician and a professional pharmacist, I must shoulder the responsibility with strong ethical principles to impart the necessary knowledge, understanding, skills and integrity to ensure that students become independent learners and subsequently well-educated pharmacists who prioritise community-friendly pharmaceutical care.
LEARNING THEORY: CONNECTIVISM
· Learning occurs via recognising and interpreting concepts and patterns of pharmaceutical care within a network-associated, socially-related, technologically-enhanced channels.
· Learning is highly influenced by diversities - including network technologies, population cohorts and cultural values.
· Memory power relies on valuing current states and adaptive patterns which exist in networks.
· Transfer of knowledge involves nodes connection, linking related pharmacy elements to create sensible and up-to-date understanding.
· The types of learning supported by this theory encompass complex learning, rapid changing core and diverse sources of information.
