Reflective Practice Approach
I adopt a structured reflective practice framework to continuously improve my teaching. At the end of each semester, I conduct a systematic review of student feedback, assessment outcomes, and personal observations.
| Teach & Observe | → | Collect Feedback | → | Reflect & Analyse | → | Plan Improvements | → | Implement & Share |
Key Reflections and Improvements Made
-
Reflection: Early pharmacology lectures relied heavily on traditional slide-based delivery. Student engagement and quiz scores indicated surface-level learning.
Action: Transitioned to flipped classroom model with pre-recorded video modules, freeing class time for PBL cases and interactive discussions. Observed improvement in higher-order question performance. -
Reflection: Students found computational drug design abstract and disconnected from pharmacy practice.
Action: Introduced live molecular docking demonstrations using AutoDock/PyMOL during lectures, linked to real disease targets from my NAFLD research. Students reported the concepts became tangible and clinically relevant. -
Reflection: PBL group dynamics were uneven, with some students free-riding.
Action: Implemented structured peer assessment rubrics within PBL modules, making individual contributions visible and accountable.
Analisis / Sintesis untuk Penambahbaikan Analysis / Synthesis for Improvement
Action Required: Add specific data:
- Before-and-after comparison of student performance (grades, pass rates)
- Student feedback score trends across semesters
- Specific course adjustments made in response to evaluation data
