# This blog introduces simple Kadazan used in daily conversations to fellow colleagues in UniSZA. May this language stays and DOES NOT EXTINCT with time.
SINGING OUT LOUD
Singing is SMELL A ROSE THEN BLOW A CANDLE. This technique helps students to overcome their nervousness during public speaking. Try this formulae. I can guarantee you that it works wonders. Your breathing techniques and voice projection will improve. Believe me...lets watch lecturers from FBIM singing out loud in public.
(i) Step 1- Demonstration - by myself
(ii) Step 2- Practical (Lecturers)
(iii) Step 3- Practical (Students)
SELF-DEVELOPMENT - LEARNING MANDARIN (KUNKWAN INTERNATIONAL MANDARIN CENTRE)
This was one example of my assignment for Level III, Mandarin. I need to study further as my Mandarin language is still far behind among non native speakers. I grade myself with a C today.
COACHING IS ON THE MOVE
My official retirement date will be on 13 March 2028. I had planned earlier for my successor in most of my subjects that I am currently teaching in FBIM, UniSZA. I had strategized my coaching as early as in 2021 among young lecturers so that they will fully understand the nature of the subjects and how these subjects are supposed to be delivered. My coaching plan includes
(i) Animal Fish nutrition/Fish feeds and feeding/Animal Feed and Processing Technology
one fellow is finalising her PhD thesis and hopefully, she will defend her viva-voce successfully ieither at the end of 2022 or early 2023.
(ii) Ecosystem Approach to Fisheries Management (EAFM) and Fish Processing & Preservation
Dr Nguang is currently under coaching since 2021. We are co-sharing the subjects.
(iii) Fisheries Value Chain - I am still looking for potential junior lecturers to be coached.
Dr. Nguang (in pink cap and blue shirt) is doing hands-on training in fish processing practical.
Dr. Nguang is undertaking training on EAFM for Executive Course at Sandakan Sabah.
Dr. Nguang is undertaking test for executives in EAFM course
Dr Nguang is activitely participating in students study group discussion.
After this video, I will show outputs of my interview with Dr Nguang herself on the mentor-mentee coaching aspect. Interview was done on the spot without any drafts etc. Original brand.
Dr Nguang's honest opinion on mentor-mentee coaching
PROMOTION OF FBIM COURSES
Getting new students to fill up quotas in FBIM courses is a challenge for us. Why is so? Simple mathematics. 1
1. Intake quotas were raised up without looking at the present pattern of science stream students in high school. Patterns are on mixed modes while our intake criterions are focus on pure sciences leavers.
2. The creams of the creams are snatched by other unis before we could even start to do so. The location of Besut Campus may contributes to the choices of future students.
