R2D2 Model

R2D2 Model

R2D2

My Teaching and Learning Philosophy is based on R2D2 model introduced by Bonk and Zhang (2006). This model consists of four (4) elements: Read, Reflect, Display, and Do for designing and delivering education, particularly for distance or online education. Hence, this model is very applicable to be referred as the whole world now facing severe pandemic Covid-19.

The first quadrat of the model (READ) relates to methods to help learners acquire knowledge through online readings, virtual explorations, and listening to online lectures and podcasts.

The second quadrat of the model (REFLECTING) associates on reflective activities such as online blogs, reflective writing tasks, self-check examinations, and electronic portfolios.

The third quadrate of the model (DISPLAYING) focuses on visual representations of the content including virtual tours, timelines, animations, and concept maps.

The fourth quadrate of the model (DOING) emphasizes the ability of students can do with the content in hands-on activities including simulations, scenarios, and real-time cases.
